What would you do if God told you to drop everything and leave NOW and not know where u are going but HE would show you when you got there? Thats what Abram (later to be called Abraham) did in Genesis 12:1. God said "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you." verses 4 & 5 "So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there."

What excuses do you have not to drop and go?
Too many times we say were too young or too old. Genesis tells us he left -at 75 years old- and did what God said!
We are too busy I have baseball, softball, football, soccer, homework, dance, choir, etc.: Aren't you glad Jesus didn't use that excuse when He died on the cross for us!
I don't know all that God wants: The only thing we need to know is when He says GO! He will tell us (as He did with Abram) when we need to.

With God there are no excuses - He has the BEST plans laid up for us - the plans of a hope and a future. Why would we want to make excuses to not receive His blessings?

To Tell or Not To Tell?
Your mom and dad allow you to go to the movies with Billy as long as other friends are going. They think you are too young to single date but they do allow you to go with a group, if the movie you choose is agreed upon first. Billy picks you up and the two of you head to the movies. On the way Billy tells you that a few of his friends have decided to get together with their girlfriends at the pizza place instead of going to the movies. You get home on time and everything seems cool. The next night at dinner, your mom and dad asked you what you thought about the movie.

Student Council 2009

It has come to my attention that there are some questions about how the council has come about. Let me "break it down" for ya. We voted on 2 Wednesdays and 2 Sundays. There were 41 Ballots Cast in the election. There were 3 independant counters of the ballots that had nothing at stake - they were Keith Meyers, Justin Loudermilk and Dan Heron (one of Justins friends who does not even go to this church but a different one). The ballots were count on Saturday, January 3rd in the Cafe of the Youth Center at 11:00am. If you have any questions contact any of the counters or myself. Its time to start supporting and praying for those teens that make it!

What Happened Last Night - October 29th?!?!?

WOW - what an amazing site last night - at our wednesday night service. After the message and Q & A time God did an awesome work in the lives of some of the students that were there!!! How many? 12! Last night 12 of our teens either accepted Jesus for the first time or rededicated their lives to Jesus - WHAT AN AWESOME PRAISE ! ! ! ! ! To those 12 - I am praying for you, Stay Strong, Stay His and we will do everything we can to help you grow. Philippians 1:6 says to "Be confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." ! ! ! He is able and ready to lead and keep you, just grow in faith and HE will! If you are reading this and you are a follower of Jesus - I want to encourage you to join in Prayer for these 12 daily. I know you don't know who they are, and I am not going to list them by name on the internet, but God knows - just mention the "12 from Wednesday Night" and He will be faithful!!!

This Sunday is the Chili Cook-off after church. $3 per person or $10 per family. All Proceeds go to NO LIMITS Youth Ministry. A $25 gift certificate to Chilis will be awarded to the winner of the cook-off!!!

Sunday, August 17th -- Back 2 School Bash @ Eastside Mission
Be at the EastSide Mission @ 1:00 for set-up. The event runs from 2:00-4:00. There will be much to do and we need all the help we can get. Cooking, Running Games, Registration and more. make sure you are there!!!

Sunday, August 24th -- Day @ The Lake
The cost is $5 and that is for food and gas $$ for the Boat. We will be spending the day at the lake tubbing, eating, swimming and more. Be at the church BEFORE 5PM we will return around 9PM. Make sure you bring a towel and your suit (or wear it)
